Classic Brazillian music for Show #5 - I couldn't resist playing some classic tracks, so many big names in Brazillian music here - this show plays Jorge Ben, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Gal Costa! - in another episode we can focus on the lesser names, but the big names are big for a reason, which is that they made great music!  We also take a little spotlight on some West Indian funk music, and start it all off with a little set of funk 45s.

Show #4: May 15-21

Disco Time!  For this 4th show I venture into early rap and disco and some 80s tracks... it starts off with a 45 from Louisiana's Soul Unlimited label (which put out some excellent 45s, by the way) moves to some Prelude sides (very consistent in the early 80s) and some P&P (Peter Brown and Patrick Adams, who put out some great disco and early rap, and even some funk 45s), and it all finishes up with a great Syreeta song!

Rare Function - Disco Function (45, Soul Unlimited)
D Train - Keep On (45, Prelude)
Stacy Lattisaw -Jump to the Beat (LP, Let me be your Angel)
Sharon Redd - Never Give You Up (LP: Redd Hott)
Sweet G - A Heartbeat Rap (12", West End)
Woody Wood - Woody Rap (LP, Sounds of New York, USA)
Cloud One - Atmosphere Strut (LP, Atmosphere Strut)

Show #3: May 8-14

I have to say, I'm really pleased with this show - 13 songs, 6 different countries, and a bunch of songs that I really really like, especially that Juan Pablo Torres - thanks again to Wyatt for getting that for me, it's definitely appreciated!  Other highlights include the Francis Lai track which is one of the grooviest French songs that I know, the mod stylings of the Duke of Burlington, and the reigning champion of 'Shaft' covers by Byron Lee and the Dragonaires!  Enjoy!
