If It Rotates We Can Control It

Show #17!  I finally get a new mixer, and replace my old piece of crap one (with a new piece of crap!).  I'm still not firmly at the helm, so be gentle.  Lots of good songs in this episode, though, with a particular emphasis on the island sounds... a celebration of the independence of the Bahamas through funk, some quality reissues (Richard Stoute, Funky Nassau), and some generally great songs (Willie Hutch, Curtis Mayfield) round out this episode.  I also finally play the flipside to the opening music - the mighty Iron Leg.  Enjoy.

Show #16 - back to the disco era, complete with faulty equipment!  Hear some slinky grooves while your host struggles with his mixer!  Yeah, for this weeks show I'm not at my best, as my mixer has begun inexblicably picking up the radio...even though it's not connected to one!  Maybe my neighbour operates a pirate radio show?  I don't know.  Hopefully the music makes up for my distracted-ness - classy joints from the late 70s and early 80s.  Get down.
