Show #19 - September 11-17

Show #19 is all over the map (in a good way).  I was inspired by both my recent acquisition of Ray Stephen Oche's awesome album 'Interpretations of the Original Rhythm' (great title, too!) and a trip to the awesome Toronto funk party 'Turning Point', at the Gladstone Hotel.  Everything starts off with the funk that you know the show for (including some funky Sesame street), and then we get to the African musicians, British people pretending to be African, Mr. Bongo, more great Brazillian tunes, and lots more.

The Pazant Brothers and the Beaufort Express - A Gritty Nitty
Eddie Bo - Hook and Sling (part 1)
The Poets of Rhythm - Guiding Resolution
The Vibrations - Ain't No Greens In Harlem
Susan from Sesame Street - The ABC Song
Monk Montgomery - Fuselage (part 2)
Mandingo - The Cheetah
Ray Stephen Oche - Okwukwu-Kiwongo
Jack Costanzo - Cumbanchero
Os 5 Sambistas - Poera
Jair Rodrigues - Deixa Isso Pra La
Wando - Nega De Obaluae
