Show#26! Sorry about the little hiatus, I was very busy with my job, and didn't have the time... however, I do have a really interesting show this week that will hopefully make up for last week. I had intended that this show be more jazzy, and it is (love that Mary Lou Wiliams!), but some other stuff slipped in there as well - check the track by Air for some hippy grooves, Alice Clark for solid soul, and Larry McGee for the tribute to Pittsburg (!). On the jazzy side there's Dave Pike, the Katowice Big Band, Jorge Ben with the track that Rod Stewart ripped off, and more! Dig it.

Show #25: November 6 - 12
Show #25, in which I, your humble selector, confess my love for soft (and sometimes) Brazillian tunes... but you knew that already, didn't you? If, at first my selection of the Friends of Distinction, the Quinteto Ternura, and Antonio Adolfo turn you off, please try again - there's something special about these songs that really hooks me, and I don't think I'm the only one. Lots of Brazillian music in this show in general, though - check the piano solo in the Quarteto Novo track, the rapid vocals of Elis Regina.... and the show opens with some funky 45s, and ends with some jazzy disco! A Dutch flute jam and a cool British cop show track, and it ends with Eddie Russ?! - this show's actually pretty varied. PS send me an email or a comment if you like the soft stuff, so I know I'm not the only one.
